Description

It may surprise you, but Chicago happens to be a great place to trail run.

From hilly Forest Preserves on the southwest side (shout out: Palos Trails) to our lengthy lakeside paths, Chicago has an abundance of places to gear up for races that pack-in the elevation. Not to mention, access to resources, trainers, and communities to help you get into or continue your trail running training.

Join Coach Denise Sauriol -- the "Marathon Whisperer" -- at the Arc'teryx Bucktown Outlet location to learn about her adventures in trail running and ultra marathoning -- and how to thrive in the sport no matter if you're a beginner or long-time runner.

In addition to showing-off pictures and stories from her recent Everest Basecamp and Patagonia marathons -- Denise will share:

  • How to get started trail running
  • The best places to trail run in and around Chicago
  • How to train for high-elevation, technical terrain and races outside of Chicagoland
  • How to train for out-of-state trails (e.g. Zion, Kettle Moraine, Moab, Antelope Canyon, etc.)
  • Nutrition and gear for trail running

BONUS: We'll be raffling some Arc'teryx swag at the event. No purchase necessary.

Shout out to Arc'teryx Chicago and Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. – sponsors of this event and the Chicago chapter of Mappy Hour.
