Love Your Mother: Earth Day Hike and Celebration

We're teaming up with Merrell and Paragon Sports to head out to the Appalachian Trail for a day of celebrating Mother Earth.
Grab your re-usable waterbottle and hop on the bus for a fun and fullfiling day outdoors.
Schedule
7:30AM: Bus pick-up on the UWS in front of Apple Bank on 73rd Street (Google Map)
9:00AM: Meet at the trailhead (Google Map) if you're driving yourself
~ Hike on the famed Appalachian Trail with new Mappy Hour friends (we'll have 2-3 smaller groups).~
Head to Mountain Creek for an afternoon of outdoor activities!
- 12-2pm - Survival Skills Workshop (Shelter Building, Water Purification, Dealing with Wildlife)
- 2:00-3:00pm Yoga class
- 2-4pm Earth Day art project with non-profit Eco.Logic
- 2-3pm - Ropes, Rigging, and Trees with Randy Lee: Learn the 5 Most Useful Knots (Supplies provided!)
- 3-3:30pm - How to Pack a Daypack + How to Read a Map with Merrell
- or just chill in the Biergarden with your Sierra Nevada brews!
4PM Head back to the city
What to Wear/Pack
- Bring a daypack with at least 1.5 liters of water, snacks, a lunch, hat, sunscreen and a rain jacket
- Wear athletic, non-cotton clothing
- Bring a bag of junk mail, old newspapers or any excess paper for an Earth Day art project (you can leave on the bus - you don't have to hike with it!)
- If you're interested in yoga - bring a mat or towel
- There is nowhere to purchase food on-site, bring your own lunch!
